I've been sucked into the games with no escape till maybe spring??
Firstly - my playstation died and Aaron and I had to go get a new one. It died about 2 or 3 weeks ago and we got a new one the next day. It lasted a long time though... my model was the A01 model with many hours of gaming and movies and pretty much heavy constant usage since I got it so I can't complain about the life of the machine. :D We are also going to try to fix it so we have two working machines; we bought a cable from the power to where the interface which has come in & a new power supply which we are still waiting to come in from Hong Kong. But anyways a warning to anyone who uses a PS... the hard drive CANNOT go from one play station to the other as they are specifically coded to the particular PS3. So if there are any signs at all of yours dyeing back up your data... which is the main reason for trying to reanimate my old PS3 as it has all my PS2 saves & of course PS3 saves.
Dark Souls:
As my PS3 died I had to restart my game after about 20 hours into the game or so... I am playing the same character as before (caster + dex based fighter) and she kicks ass! But I did start slightly different - started as a thief for the best gift in the game - master key - plus the poison/bleed resist armor. The armor is also a billion times better looking than the sorceress armor.
In my new game I am 52 hours into it and still completely addicted (Level 70). 52 hours does include my character standing doing nothing while I look stuff up on my comp... I'm currently going through the catacombs before I go into Sens Fortress - I still have to finish Demon Ruins area (I believe that is what it is called... the zone after Quesleg Domain anyway...).
SWTOR:
I got into the pressure test beta as I'm sure majority if not all the people signed up for the beta test did. However because I live in the middle of freeking nowhere in the frozen tundra and I don't have high speed internet I couldn't friggen download the game in time to try it! >:( Oh well - will get to play it in December.
Skyrim:
Amazing game! I wanted to finish Dark Souls before I picked this game up... but then I heard how much Aaron and Roxy was enjoying it and said fuck it. We went to Grande Prairie on Fri and picked up the game and I started after our DND session on Sat night. I was planning to go to bed at a reasonable time... but every time I looked at the clock it was 1.5 - 3 hours later. XD I stayed up till 5am, when to bed and woke up the next morning at 9:30am to start playing. I stopped probably about 4pm though to take a brake and watch some Dexter as well as not successfully work on my alchemy at the same time as Dexter (Season 6 is awesome). I'm level 7 or 8 and I'm making a similar character - sneeky light armor based with magic back up. I think I'll stick with swords for the extra crit chance. I'm also currently saving up for a house in the game. ^.^
Overall - playing on PC and it is an excellent game and very addicting!

Update - Australia, Dark Souls
Hrmm... so apparently I haven't blogged in a while... for an update - life is great. :D
Work sent me to Australia for 2 weeks for a Anglo met coal meet. I did a presentation on Peace River Coal and it went excellent. While I was down there I also visited their sites. Dawson, Moranbah North & Capcoal. I wont bore any one with the details, but their sites are very nice but 100% open - being a Canadian I was quite shocked to see plant buildings with no walls. XD
While I was down there I stayed in Brisbane mostly - very beautiful city! I also did an eco tour at Tamborine Mountain and went to the Koala animal sanctuary. As well as shopping for suvinears for the family. :) Unfortunately I really wanted to do a tour to Morton Island for some sand dune surfing and snorkeling but didn't have time. There is always next time. :)
I'm also currently doing a leadership development course - quite good stuff if your willing to learn from it. :D
For games - I'm completely addicted to Dark Souls. I watched Aaron play through Demon souls (yes he did beat the whole first one :D) and I tried Demon souls for a little bit right before Dark Souls came out. Not enough to really get into it but just enough as an intro to the mechanics. So far both of us are completely absorbed in the sequel and both of us really like the changes they did make. The enemies are just has hard in the sequel but one thing they did make easier is the campfires throughout the level so you don't have to re-start the whole thing to level up and use your souls. They also got rid of mana and is using spell charges (not foreign if you play D&D or older Final Fantasy series, etc...) . I think this also makes it a bit easier for beginner casters as the first one the only way to re-charge your mana early game was to purchase the mana pots... which more or less forced people to play as melee at the beginning - which isn't entirely bad since you still have to learn melee when playing any character - original or sequel. They also got rid of health regain items and now you just start with x # where you recharge those + your spell charges at the campfires. With the removal of these items the drop rates have decreased accordingly. They have also seemingly removed your stash... You hold everything with you but only the stuff you have equipped goes against your weight capacity. Now I only wish you could do something with the equipment that you pick up but don't use. Skyrim has a really cool idea on what to do with your old equipment. :D
I'm also lightly back into Aion as I wait for SW:TOR and Skyrim. I haven't pre-ordered my copy of Skyrim yet... I really should!

Folklore
Yes I have finally done it!! I've completed Folklore.
I may have to remind people what it is as it came out almost 3 years ago... Fall 2007 I believe. Anyways, it is this game:
My overall opinion is that is a good game and it has very cool and interesting game mechanics and a good story - if you watch Asian horror movies you may say the basic story is kinda typical to the more messed up horror movies from Asia.
Why did it take me almost 3 years to complete then? Well... the part I didn't like is that it forces you to play through both characters so after you finish chapter 5 with one of your characters you can't progress until you play through the first 5 chapters with the second character to get both sides of the story. Which is probably find for most people... but I have a bit of OCD with my video games in the way I have to complete them as much to 100% completion as possible... That and I don't play video games a second time unless its been like 5 years so I don't remember so much of it as a play again. With saying that it took me 23 hrs to complete Ellen's chapters 1-5 then I found out I had to do Keats and I put down the game for a year and a half... After I picked it up it was still to fresh in my memory so I put it down for another year. After that I would do a chapter or two then get too bored with grinding all the monsters to max power up and put it down for another month and repeat. After you get to chapter 6 you go through a bunch of story progression and then do chapter 7 with both characters at once, which is nice being able to switch back and forth easily but more grinding per the level as your doing both characters. They let you capture less in ch. 7 for Ellen though to cut it down a bit. Either way it was bearable and I really just wanted to see the end and get the whole story! XD
Overall it took me 46 hours to play through the game with capturing and upgrading all monsters to maximum, getting all of Ellen's cloaks and all of both of their books for all the levels. If you're not as obsessed about completion as I am then it would probably only take you half the time. And the game is only somewhere in the $20 range now so worth it for the interesting game play and story. :)
And here are 2 game play screen shots I got from online. XD Keats:
And Ellen:
As usual, click on the pic to go to original source. :)

Star Wars The Old Republic
Guess what!
You can now pre-order SW:TOR!!! At: http://www.swtor.com/preorder
I've pre-ordered my copy already.... I kinda went all out... I've been following SW:TOR since 2009 and I got the collectors eddition. :O It has all this fancy pancy stuff included. ^.^
Aaron's sad that he can't order the delux eddition with the phisical discs and such... idk why not.. just have a specific starting first 4 letters of codeor seperate code all together or additional disc with the delux and the rest is just like the regular box.
I paid WAY too much for the collectors eddition... but I'm looking at it as $60/ year I've been following the game. :P Plus I am one of those people who like to collect stuffs in the game. I usually never pay for it with anything other than time... but oh well, I just worked some OT. XD
Now for the game to come out!!
For anyone of my friends who happen to read this that arn't already on the e-mail list and is interested in playing this game, let me know and I'll add you to the list. The idea is for everyone to be on the same server and hopefully the same side. If not on the same side (sith) then at least be on the same server so we can kick your ass! ^.^

Penticton
Penticton was awesome! :D Aaron and I went there to visit with Jeff, Lanette and the girls. Jeff's mum lives there and her house is beautiful! And it has a pool and a hot tub ^.^ We didn't do much shopping (yay) other than for liquor. Aaron bought some sandals since he lost his other pair and I bought lizard stuffs. The weather was awesome, it rained once when we were eating lunch and was done when we where done and on Sunday night it rained at some point. It was beautifully sunny and we floated down the channel a couple of days. Sunday was the best weather day which made the channel awesome! After we got back we jumped into the pool until dinner time.
We were only there for 3 days... but it felt like much longer and hugely relaxing. It makes me want to move down there. XD Jeff's parents also had amazing internet connection! We downloaded just over 100gigs while we were there! We got I believe 7 seasons of various shows and a hole bunch of movies! :D
For lizard stuffs, we finally got different bedding. We were using the calcium sand which is good for them when they eat it but it also is very dusty and makes everything the color of the sand including the lizards... so we got this crushed shell stuff which is what the pet store uses itself. So far, I'm very happy! Its not discoloring everything and if a lizard is wet it doesn't just clump and look ugly in the cage. Also cleaned off the stuff that was in the cage and the stick they usually sleep on actually has quite a lot of color to it. We also added a plastic aloe vera plant and a drift wood large stick which is below the new heat lamp. Yay for finally putting a heat lamp in there rather than 2 UV light bulbs. XD Their cage looks awesome! Much like the pet store and full but not over crowded. :D I took picks yesterday but I still have to put them on my comp. and post them. :D
